Badass fance.

Badass fance.

I don’t know who Whistles are but this is a very nice invitation that they sent out and gives me all kinds of ideas. Cut out people were one of my favourite things when I was a kid, and now I wonder why I don’t do more of them. I haven’t done much paper cutting…

Revealing my Disband pieces

By all accounts the Disband opening went well, and was well-received! Horah to Renee-Anne and Angela for organising another smashing show! In addition to designing the logo and poster, I exhibited three pieces and now that the show has officially opened I can grant you a looksee too. There are rooms in this house that…

The final peek at my Disband work

I’ve already shown you a sneak peek at a paper cut piece for the Disband exhibition (opening Thursday May 27th, 2010 at aMBUSH gallery), but I thought I’d show you some more photos and elaborate a little on how creating this work for Disband has affected me. Friday Fance: The Fancening.

Cute! ⇒ I would love to…

Paper cuts hurt!

In the last month I decided to try my hand at a little bit of paper cutting, or scherenschnitte, after seeing a few artists’ work using only a piece of paper and a sharp implement. I started using my old exacto and ended up with three choice calluses on my thumb, pointer and middle finger.…

Another red dress!

Tee just sent me a link to this beautiful paper sculpture by Elsa Mora! Check out her blog and her etsy store for soooo many more beautiful things.

Paper cutting dress

This is from 2004, but it was too amazing not to post. I was googling “paper cutting” and came across this dress in the image search! It was part of the Chinese Paper-cutting Art Exposition in Wenzhou City, in east China’s Zhejiang Province.
